Blueberry Cobbler

If you love a great cobbler, you want to try this Deep Dish Blackberry Cobbler. It’s a classic and always a hit. It’s wonderful with ice cream and a great summer treat.

❤️WHY WE LOVE THIS RECIPE

I always make this blueberry cobbler when I want a great dessert to serve family and friends and have blueberries on hand.  This recipe is delicious and wonderful with whipped cream or ice cream on top.  Take this anywhere and you won’t bring any home. This recipe is made in a 9X9, it’s perfect for a small gathering.

🍴KEY INGREDIENTS

  • Fresh or frozen blueberries
  • All-purpose flour
  • Baking powder
  • White granulated sugar
  • Evaporated milk (could use regular milk)
  • Butter, melted
  • Vanilla extract
  • White granulated sugar
  • Cornstarch
  • Salt
  • Water

SWAPS

You can swap out the fruit in this easy blueberry cobbler. Use peaches, strawberries, blackberries, and raspberries; all would be delicious. You can use fresh or frozen berries.

This dish is really easy to make and super simple ingredients. It’s a wonderful dessert!

COOKING STEPS

Step 1
Spread blueberries in the bottom of a 9 x 9 baking dish. Whisk together all-purpose flour and baking powder; add sugar to flour along with milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Stir all ingredients with a spoon and spread over blueberries in a baking dish.

Step 2
Combine the 1/2 cup sugar, the cornstarch, and the salt and sprinkle over the flour mixture. Do not stir; just sprinkle on. Boil the 1/2 cup water and pour over all the ingredients. Do not stir.

Step 3
Bake in preheated 350-degree oven for 40 to 45 minutes. Brown top under the broiler the last couple of minutes.

You don’t have to thaw the blueberries if you’re using frozen. They may have more juice since they were frozen but that is okay. It will still be delicious!

I love this cobbler served warm with ice cream. I think that is the best way to enjoy it, but if you don’t have ice cream it’s good with whipped cream too!

How do you reheat your cobbler?

We just pop a serving in the microwave and heat it up and then top with ice cream. If reheating in the oven, set out and let come to room temperature, then put in the oven at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes until the desired temp.

How long does cobbler keep?

We keep it in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.

STORING

We store this covered in foil in the refrigerator.
